Our Story
There’s good news for those who have been missing the cheese, meat, fudge, ice cream, tourist merchandise and friendly hometown customer service once found at Miller’s Cheese House at the intersection of Hammond Avenue and Highway 48 on the north end of Rice Lake. It’s back!
Former resident Rich Butzler, who has worked as a contractor in Florida for many years, has returned with the idea of not only bringing back the beloved cheese house but to add a bar. The Spirit of Club 48 will be the name of a bar behind the cheese house that revives the name of the establishment that stood on the site during his high school years.
